Having worked as a secondary school Maths teacher in both the state and private sector within Suffolk and Essex, I began tutoring Maths in early 2008. Since this time, I have worked supporting trainee teacher students at the Suffolk and Norfolk SKITT and also within a local primary school as a subject specialist support for SATs exam level boosting for high ability year 6 students (teaching for gifted and talented year 3, 4 and 5 students).

 

I thoroughly enjoy supporting students on a one-to-one basis, tailoring my teaching to suit the needs of the pupil and helping them to fully achieve their potential.  I can teach key study skills for exams as well as supporting and building confidence through careful guidance. I can offer diagnostic help and advice with special educational needs.

I have supported many students to achieve scholarships in their 13+ and common entrance exams.  I have taught all IGCSE and GCSEs examination boards with my students consistently far exceeding their predicted grades and some making the transition through multiple grades.  Since 2008 I have taught students to pass a variety of exams including Additional maths FSMQ (AS level), A level Maths, Further Maths, QTS teacher tests, functional skills tests...

As well as this I have successfully coached many pupils taking 11+ scholarship tests, 11+ (for the Colchester Grammar School and local private schools), the Common Entrance exams and A' levels.

Covid-19 Update - I am now offering online lessons to support home learning, either helping with schoolwork set remotely or with key numeracy skills as needed.

The sessions

​Private one-to-one lessons are normally 60 minutes long, usually in my home which is close to Ipswich Town Centre. All assessments, preparation, homework, marking and report writing is included in the fee.   
Online lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes long using Zoom.

Regular feedback for parents on pupil progress is provided.
